Female Infanticide ~ What to do??

The current census revealed a great deal about our 'society'. Yeah, the same society which judges people on their marital status. Guess it forgot the necessity of women in our lives. I am not a feminist but it doesn’t take a high IQ to understand why women are important!! I will not get into the details of it  but will list some reasons for this disparity.
  1. Human beings are the only species in the animal kingdom where a female has to impress the male counterpart. When a woman gets married, she still has to carry a tray with tea/coffee in front of the grooms family. As if this humiliation is not enough, she has to wait for the guy to say 'yes' and only then there could be any further talks. I know some of you are gonna refute me saying time has changed and all blah blahs…., but it really hasn't. Hey, some of us still have arranged marriages.
  2. From time immemorial, we, the girls born the borgeoua t that a fair complexioned girl is preferred over a dark complexioned. Look at the increasing number of fairness cream advertisements. Ponds ads goes as far as showing a very fair complexioned girl thinking, 'agar mei aur gori hoti toh who (some guy) mujhe notice karta', (its not an accurate statement but conveys the same meaning. Also forgive my Hindi). It’s a shame what we are made to go through.  If our government wants to eradicate this epidemic of female infanticide, it has to stop these nonsense ads. No one cares if a guy uses a fairness cream or not. I will quote Miss Taslima Nasreen here, she said, men are colorblind and women who don't know men are colorblind uses a fairness cream. :D
  3. "Ladki padaya dhan hoti hai", again a very old statement but take your time to think about this. If you do not want to produce 'padaya dhan' in your house, people please stop having sex, use contraception, or just swallow. You never know what that one of those little bastards can do.
  4. Again getting with the society (read bollywood), we often see  the mother-in-law cursing (saans) cursing the daughter-in-law (bahu) about bearing a girl child. Really, people, time to grow up. Where is your basic education. A woman doesn’t have the chromosome (Y) needed to a male child, the guy has it and which chromosome combines together is a mystery in itself. So, Dear Mr. PM, educate people. Go as far as including this is the basic school curriculum. Also, include tests for the first time pregnant woman. (This will also control population as people would be scared of tests and wouldn't want to give birth. Kidding!!)
  5. Sense of pride for being a woman is far less than we can imagine. Thank god, my parents never have shown any disparity between me and my brother, but honestly in many families, disparity between the male and female child is very evident. I wonder the same mother who is a woman herself can be so partial but hey, who am I to say.
  6. Though these are very basic issues, we still face them, yes, we do. So people, don’t be deaf anymore. Its high time you and I work together to stop this archaic, barbaric, brutal torture. You won't want our future generations to look at us as ignorant race who didn’t value the vassal who bore them, now, do you??
